GROUP-BASED PROTECTION OF AFGHAN WOMEN AND GIRLS UNDER THE 1951 REFUGEE CONVENTION

چکیده

Abstract The Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021 deprived women and girls their fundamental rights. Taliban denied or severely restricted girls’ rights to education, work, healthcare, freedom movement, opinion expression, protection from gender-based violence. This article argues that the treatment Afghan amounts persecution, all should be recognised as refugees under 1951 Refugee Convention. further examines feasibility prima facie recognition for girls.
